Worming treatment

Animals are dewormed (given worming treatment) for the first time at 30 days of age. As prevention, worming treatment should be given 3–4 times a year. Read more in our article on deworming your pet.

Deworming is not advisable during a bitch's pregnancy. It is best done before mating and after the birth.

You can check whether your pet has worms at our clinic with a faecal (stool) test.

Before vaccination

Your pet must be dewormed 10 days before its vaccination.

Also make sure your pet has no external parasites, such as fleas, lice or ticks. If it does, it must be treated with an insecticidal product, which your vet will choose.

Puppy vaccinations

To build stronger immunity, puppies are vaccinated 3 times in their first year:

  1. The first vaccination from 6 weeks of age.
  2. The second 3–4 weeks later, when the puppy is 10–12 weeks old.
  3. The third another 3–4 weeks after that.

After the first year, an adult dog is vaccinated once a year.

Kitten vaccinations

In their first year, kittens are vaccinated 2 times:

  1. The first vaccination at 9 weeks of age.
  2. The second 3–4 weeks later.

An adult cat is vaccinated once a year. Read more about vaccines on our vaccination page.
